Funding Application

An application for funding has just been made to the Lottery, through the Arts Council, for another two years of AA2A schemes in 2009/11 which (if successful) will again see an increase in colleges taking part (from 32 to 37).

Here at AA2A, we are very proud that each AA2A placement costs the public purse less than £600, whereas the average bursary/residency costs between £10,000 and £20,000. Our cost 'per head' includes all the project overheads and a £220 Artists’ materials budget. This has allowed us to offer 128 placements this year, giving many more artists the opportunity to take part. We are hugely aware that this is only made possible because of the time put in by the college staff to make AA2A work. We are sure this is why the Arts Council continue to be so supportive in the current cash strapped climate.
