Last year I received a Research and Development grant from London Arts to explore ideas based on shadows. Taking familiar psychological, theatrical and filmic terms such as mirroring, projecting and shadowing as starting points, I have developed a series of photographs and moving image sequences predominantly set in the projection booth and auditorium of National Film Theatre, London. This new work is a dialogue between still and moving imagery. The AA2A residency at Metropolitan University gave me a chance to explore techniques new to my practice in relation to this project.
