Final Statement – May 2010

When embarking upon the AA2A scheme, I proposed to – kick start my practice, experiment with new materials and techniques, make work for exhibition.

I am pleased to say that I have achieved all of my aims.

I have utilised the foundry facilities at the University of Wolverhampton and have made new work in bronze. My first experimental work was achieved by pouring bronze into moulds carved into cuttlefish bones. The resulting work being of a most delicate, fragile nature. The latest work has been more traditional in it’s execution, although the final work will bring together an unusual combination of materials, bronze and beeswax.

During the scheme I have made experimental drawings and digital images using silverpoint and photography. I have also made drawings using magnets.

My work is currently being exhibited in two exhibitions, and I intend to exhibit my new work in the very near future.
