I am interested in exploring ways of handling clay to convey the contortions and stresses found in nature, either in the landscape or in the human figure. The original forms were made from sheets of porcelain. My aim during AA2A has been to develop the scale of my work and to explore other clay bodies which would still allow the same manipulation yet be strong enough to be built in larger forms and be displayed outside.
