My art practice is mainly intended to challenge attitudes towards our
conditioned notions of beauty but I am predominantly concerned with the
issues that affect the disabled/deformed individual. Obviously due to
my own 'disability' my work is of a personal nature, I include myself
in my photography, film and sometimes abstractly in my paintings. I am
keen to bring attention to the fears, anticipation and loneliness one
can feel as a largely ostracized figure in today's society. Some of my
work is pleasing aesthetically and some challenging. Other works are
simply a testament to my life's experiences. Disabled individuals need
to be seen in a new positive light in art, film, media, photography and
all other aspects of our everyday lives. This is the main focus of my
practice.
