Exploring relevance to contemporary society of fairytales and familiar stories. By using recognisable symbols and images as a stimulus

The work is concerned with myths and histories recalled from memory, and brought up to date with humorous and sinister elements. Often using familiar images, scenes or characters; on occasion relevant to many, sometimes just a few. Text is an integral element. Female characters dominate, though the human figure is often not represented at all or is obscured in some way. They become cartoon-like, human traits with or without human form. Drawing is a major part of the work.
