The aim of my work is to combine photography, digital imagery and traditional printmaking techniques. I prefer the hands-on approach, as ultimately the etching is my final goal. Starting with my own photograph which I scan on to the computer and manipulate in Adobe Photoshop, Painter or Macromedia, I then print the result on Inkjet Transparencies and Via, UV Light, expose the image to a metal plate coated with photosensitive film. This is developed in Soda Ash and, finally, inked up intaglio or etched out and printed on an etching process.
