Transitional Objects; Transitional Space

I used the AA2A project to further research ideas about transitional objects and transitional space as theorised by the British psychoanalyst D.W. Winnicott.

I explored the idea of the 'security blanket'/cuddly toy and it's place in human development. I was especially interested in the anecdotes related to the objects and the fact that they were not disposed of.

The project involved photographing a series of images of cuddly toys and pieces of cloth kept by the participants since infancy. 'The object is not forgotten. It is not mourned. It loses its meaning'. I endeavour to develop the project further using audiovisual medium.
