Ian Penna

I intend to use this scheme, equipment and facilities as an experimental production project to produce a body of art play. This art play will explore ordinary and mundane objects, natural phenomena, human mentality, and material manipulations. This will become the source of inspiration for final resulting work or works. The found, collected, manipulated, recycled and purchased materials will formulate a dialogue within the resulting work. This is achieved by combing my skills of improvisation, preparation, investigation and application of different materials and mediums in designated spaces. I will articulate ideas through mediums, materials and their physical properties in as an investigative way to help aid in questioning and resolving the work.

To give precious time working in a creative hub, mixing with like minded people such as the staff and students at UCF with the added bonus of using UCF equipment/ facilities can only be beneficial in the development of an artist’s practice.

My main aim is to give an insight of my personal experiences, knowledge, vision, energy, inventiveness, ability and sense of humour for the students in association with UCF and AA2A.
