Cleveland College of Art & Design 2005/2006
Helen Stevens
Having recently set up my own business in women's fashion accessories,
I have certainly come across a few obstacles and felt restricted with
the techniques I was able use, which in turn affected my creative
design potential. Being accepted onto the AA2A scheme has enabled me to
be more experimental and imaginative with my work. I have been able to
reproduce time consuming prints onto various products, such as suede
and leather clutch bags and sash belts. Having use of the facilities
has also inspired me to move into other product areas such as t-shirts
and textile canvasses, something I have always wanted to do.
This opportunity has helped me to expand my business and achieve a
professional standard in my work. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at
the college, being in such a pleasant and inspiring environment and
learning new techniques along the way.
