Most of my ceramics work with slips has been based on pictorial images, except where using traditional patterns, so I have taken the AA2A scheme as an opportunity to produce some different work using the microcosm rather than the macrocosm as inspiration.

Animal markings and shell patterns, sections of cells seen through a microscope have been my source . These have been tempered by the natural working qualities of making simple marks with slips so that the end results reflect the basic nature of the liquid slip and also the natural shapes made by rolling out clay.
