Christopher McHugh
I mainly work in printmaking and have recently been exploring three dimensional approaches within this medium, such as laser cutting, combining etching with resin casting and printing on textiles, wood and glass. I hope to incorporate elements of kiln-formed glass with print in order to create sculptural glass wall reliefs similar to the carved wooded Shoal Installation pictured. My aim is to work towards developing a body of work that would form the basis of a product with the potential to be adapted to architectural and interior applications as a form of commissioned wall installation. I see AA2A as a starting point which I expect will result in new directions within my wider creative practice.
