Camberwell College of Arts   2008/2009

Carrie Reichardt

The AA2A has been a brilliant residency for me. It has been so enjoyable to be back in a college environment. It really has inspired me to want to return and study for my MA. Although I had anticipated being in the ceramic department I actually ended up spending all my time in the printing open resource.

During my time at Camberwell I have concentrated on gaining new skills in water based screen printing of ceramic transfers. With the help of Tony Lee, the wonderful technician I have learnt how to make multiply colour screen prints. Having only ever screen printed once before, I am extremely happy with the progress I have made whilst on this residency. I only wish I had had more time.

I am now so enthused by print that I am seriously considering further courses to continue with the work I have started at Camberwell. The wonderful part of this programme is that, I have been able to share skills back with the printing department. Ceramic transfer printing has not been practiced for some time at the college, but whilst I was there, a few of the students were able to share my materials and print their own.
