Caroline Barton

Initially a ceramic practitioner the AA2A scheme at Portsmouth has allowed me time and space to consolidate the direction of my creative practice. Qualities of materials and a love of making and form are still important but ideas are now directed towards large scale 3D forms for public spaces. I am increasingly fascinated as to how the unusual or unexpected can create great sensory stimulation and attract and beguile users and viewers, creating memorable and enticing places. I continue to make models for public places; facades, screens, seating that utilise light, form and seductive materials to create potentially exciting and beautiful public features.
