Sally McCollin
As a textile artist, I frequently use old, traditional handicraft techniques such as embroidery, knitting and weaving.
My intention is to venture away from the traditional concept of these techniques in order to investigate new craft areas, culminating in a series of experimental pieces. I intend to incorporate media such photography, silversmithing, sculpture and glass.
My inspiration is 'Teesdale' and my starting point was to research and respond to established rural landscape photographers - Fay Godwin, Paul Hill and Neville Turner.
From this research, I have divided my experimentation into three main areas of study: Texture, Line and Reflection.
