The structures are imagined or half remembered from life, and resonate (with a kind of melancholy) something of the act of viewing or striving to reach some mysterious other. They allow the type of reverie so often brought about by the small-scale or micro-architecture, inviting the viewer to project into a space, but suggest the redirection of the gaze, outward into the unspecified landscape beyond.
