University of WolverhamptonFrans WesselmanHaving worked as a painter and etcher for a long time, I started making stained glass a few years ago, picking up the skills more or less as I went along. Eventually I made some free-standing pieces of stained, leaded glass, which worked but looked and were very fragile. I applied to AA2A to investigate alternatives and the two pieces here are the result so far. Initially I tried fusing, but the temperature required destroyed the special qualities in the glass I was using and there was a lot of breakage. I am now bonding fine quality stained glass on to sturdy clear commercial glass and intend to make bigger pieces and experiment with different glues.
